Meet Machine Intelligence

There is a new sticker on your machine. It has a QR code.

The whole idea

See a problem. Scan the code. Type what you see. Done.

You only need your phone.
No app. No login. No password.
It takes less than 60 seconds.
Step 1 of 4

When do I scan?

Scan when something is not right with your machine.

A strange noise or a new vibration
Oil or fluid leaking
A guard or cover loose, damaged or missing
Sheets or product coming out wrong
Anything that looks, sounds or smells wrong

Not sure if it matters? Report it anyway. A small problem today is cheaper than a breakdown next week.

Safety first

Is someone in danger right now? Stop the machine and tell your supervisor first. Scan after everyone is safe.

Step 2 of 4

How do I report?

1
Scan the QR sticker
Open your phone camera and point it at the code on your machine.
2
Tap “Log an issue”
The page opens straight away. Nothing to install.
3
Type what you see
A photo helps a lot. Take one if you can do it safely.
4
Press send
Your report goes to your manager and the Total Rollforming technicians.

Each machine has its own code. Always scan the sticker on the machine with the problem.

Step 3 of 4

What do I write?

Simple words are fine. Answer three things: What? Where? Since when?

Good report

“Oil leaking from the gearbox, drive side. Started this morning.”

Good report

“Loud banging near the guillotine when the machine runs. Getting worse.”

Not enough

“Broken.”

The technician cannot tell what is broken or where.

Your spelling does not matter. Your grammar does not matter. What you saw is what matters.

Step 4 of 4

What happens next?

Your manager and the technicians get an alert straight away.
Your report is saved in the machine’s history. It cannot get lost.
The technician arrives already knowing the problem.
Important

Nobody gets in trouble for reporting. A report is you helping the whole team.

One more thing

The same QR code also holds your machine’s manuals, drawings and startup guides. Scan any time you need them.

Quick check

Which report is better?

The Trueoak rollformer is making a grinding noise. Tap the better report.

Correct. It says what, where and since when. The technician can act on it.
Almost. “Noisy” does not say where or what kind of noise. Try the other one.
One more

You see a guard missing on the Ribline. Nobody is in danger. What do you do?

Right. Report it now, on that machine’s own sticker. It takes under a minute.
Better to report it today. Waiting means the problem stays invisible.
You are ready

That is everything.

SEE IT. SCAN IT. SAY IT.

From this week the QR stickers will be on all Auckland site machines.

Questions? Ask your production manager, or email {{ contactEmail }}.

Remember

Danger to a person: stop the machine and tell your supervisor first. Everything else: scan and report.
